George Town is the main settlement on Great Exuma. George town is actually a village with one street circling Elizabeth's Harbour. The hub of the town centers on Government Wharf where the locals await the daily mail run and

catch of the day by arriving fishing vessels.
Flamingo Bay rests 2 miles south of George Town, boasting a beautiful beach and an excellent bone fish hunting ground.

     If your in the Bahamas in April, make sure to visit Exuma and partake in the Family Island Regatta @ Elizabeth harbour, the premier "elite" regatta throughout the Bahamas.
    So fishing is your fix? The annual Bahamas Bonefish Bonanza is held in George Town every October.
    And if you're getting away from the cold in the winter months, Exuma is the perfect retreat. The Junkanoo tradition traditionally starts @ 3am on December 26 (Boxing Day). A festival is one you wont want to miss!
